Dining Wooden Set Refinishing

A century or two ago our ancestors passed on the wooden furniture sets from generation to generation. In the modern world, according to statistics furniture sets change on average 2-3 times in 45-50 years. It is often difficult to part with old furniture - either it is dear to a memory, or it keeps special comfort and you don’t want to part with it. Nowadays, you don’t need to get rid of it but give your wonderful set a second life by refinishing/restoring it.

There are several reasons why you should consider refinishing/restoring your wooden furniture: tables, chairs, dressers, nightstands, cupboards etc:

  1. Your dining table, for example, has sentimental value. This is the most common reason why our customers decide to do refinishing. The furniture belonged to their parents or grandparents. They would like to keep it but the furniture looks old, damb, stinky, with a particular smell. Usually, it is very nice quality furniture. It is really worth restoring it. 50 years ago people made much better quality furniture than today. After a proper refinishing of a wooden old set it will last for several more decades.

  2. To save money. I must say that it is not the first place as it may seem. If your wooden dining set (table and chairs) was originally very expensive, made of proper wood and nicely done, it will be cheaper to refinish it than to buy a new one of the same quality. It is expensive to refinish the dining set in general. As we completely remove the old finish, repair the chairs ( if needed), apply new stain (or oil if requested) and cover it with several layers of a protective seal. It takes a significant amount of time and effort.

Many people decide to refinish just the table or just the table top. It is fine with us. But we do not refinish a spot on the surface as it is impossible to properly refinish it.

  1. Your furniture does not go well with the new design after the home renovation. You may do several modernisations to your beloved table or a chair.

  2. You have real antique wooden furniture. This is the most difficult and the most expensive type of refinishing. Restoring antique furniture takes quite a long time, as it is manual painstaking work on a product that is a real work of art. The wood furniture restoration master carefully examines all the smallest details of the item and, in accordance with the actions of those who made it, chooses the best method of repair.

The most popular request is to refinish or restore a wooden dining table top or the whole table with legs and chairs. As we heavily use the table and chairs every day. Cracks, dents, water damage, nail polish spots are the most often reasons why our clients come to us to refinish the table top or the chairs. Along with refinishing all our clients choose to reupholster the chair seats too. In the end you receive completely new-old dining set.
