Antique Nightstand Refinish
Nowadays one can find beautiful furniture at a flea market or in the auction. Most of the time this type of furniture requires restoration and refinish, especially if it’s made of wood. Tables, chairs, sofas, armoires or nightstands, - anything can be restored to almost its original condition.
Our carpenter Andrey does a great job in restoring and refinishing wooden furniture. He is a perfectionist, and will do his job to the best of his knowledge. Recently, we have got a beautiful antique nightstand. Wooden parts started to rot, the sides of the nightstand exfoliated, there were a lot of dents, and it had some missing wooden parts. It was obvious that the nightstand used to look great, but right now it needed some love.
Our carpenter made the missing parts from scratch, then found the way to glue the wooden sides without damaging the surface of the wood. When the wood is that old, anything can damage thin walls of the furniture. Then Andrey restored the wood and its parts, carefully sanded the surfaces to make the wood even. It had to be done really carefully because the parts were very thin and couple be easily damaged. Finally, we covered the nightstand with stain and polish.
Restoring and refinishing antique furniture requires a different technique than just simple refinish of dining tables or other wooden furniture. Normally, it is a more expensive type of work. We can guarantee that Marina’s Crafts offers the best prices in Bay area. Get a quote!
