Vintage Chair Repair and Upholstery

Antiques are both very interesting and very challenging to work with. There are lots of details, many things have been done manually, sometimes wood becomes rotten, and the material underneath the structure is destroyed. One has to restore the item piece by piece. So, restoration and re-upholstery of vintage furniture always takes longer than the contemporary one.

Recently, we received an order to repair, restore the wood, and re-upholster a very beautiful vintage chair. The customer was kind to give us plenty of time to do it. This luxury is always good when working with antiques.

When we took apart this chair, it turned out that the material inside of the chair was almost gone because of time. The wood also needed a second life. The carpenter sanded it off, most of it was done with hands because some parts are curved and some are fragile. He then covered the wood with a great product that will prevent the wood from rotting. We did the chair reupholstery. Our tailor Marina tailored the fabric and re-upholstered the chair. She also sewed the welt and attached it to the chair. Finally, when all parts were ready, we assembled the chair, and it looked like a new one!
