A good table has a great value, that is why a good table is expensive. First, it is the wood, to make a good quality table craftsmen take completely dry slabs. Did you know, for example, an oak slab has to dry about 12 years and for the walnut it takes about 8 years. Second, how the table is done, how much effort and skills have to be applied in order to make one. Such tables will serve for several generations. The only thing that can become old and scratchy is the surface. So people come to refinish the table surface and it is as new again.
I always get a question when the wooden furniture should be refinished. Of course we do refinishing work all year around but a really good time for wooden furniture refinishing is starting now - late spring, the whole summer till the middle of fall. It is the perfect time to do the refinishing of outdoor furniture: tables, benches, chairs, decks and patios. The wood during this season is perfectly dry and the refinishing process goes quickly and smoothly.
I must say that even indoor furniture: tables, dressers, chairs etc are much better to refinish during summer than winter. During the summer season we have an augmented number of orders for outdoor wooden structures, decks, patios, sidings or fences.
Nowadays, there is a lot of beautiful furniture that can be found at a flea market in the auction. Most of the time, this type of furniture requires restoration and refinishing especially if it comes to wood: tables, chairs, sofas or nightstands, anything can be restored to almost the primary condition.
In general, restoration is not only an interesting, but also quite a useful process. Thanks to it, you can get strong, comfortable furniture at an affordable price, or, conversely, get funds for updating and selling something that is no longer relevant to you.

A century or two ago our ancestors passed on the wooden furniture sets from generation to generation. In the modern world, according to statistics furniture sets change on average 2-3 times in 45-50 years.
